Bengals’ defense tops NFL in fewest explosive plays allowed

The Bengals have allowed the fewest big plays in the NFL.

Cincinnati has given up the fewest runs of 11-plus yards and passes of 15-plus yards, according to ESPN data.

Interestingly, the Chiefs, tied for the league’s best record, have allowed the most explosive plays. The rival Steelers rank seventh fewest, though still 19 more than the Bengals.

Cincinnati will need to limit explosive plays when it travels to Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Steelers appeared to be floundering, but after winning in Arrowhead Stadium have regained some momentum.
