Burfict brings Steelers’ ‘dirty plays’ to light on Twitter

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict will watch the next two games from the sidelines due to suspension. That doesn’t mean he has to stay quiet.

Burfict used his Twitter account to bring light to a few “dirty” plays the Steelers committed in their Week 1 win over the Browns Sunday. Burfict and the Bengals, of course, are one of the Steelers’ most hated rivals.

Burfict retweeted the following:

He also ‘quote-tweeted’ this video of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger apparently trying to twist an ankle.

Burfict, who has a reputation of being a dirty player, is probably tired of absorbing all the criticism as other teams do similar and escape without a whisper. The Bengals-Steelers rivalry has become much more heated since Burfict arrived, so it’s no surprise he made sure to point them out.

Burfict’s Twitter has since been made private.

Burfict was suspended for the first three games of the 2016 season for repeated violations of player-safety rules.
