Cincinnati Bengals linebackers Rey Maualuga and Vontaze Burfict decided in the offseason to cut off their signature dreadlocks and start 2016 with a new look.

Burfict followed through on the plan, but Maualuga did not.

“I want to the barber and he said he didn’t want to be the one responsible for cutting my hair off,” said Maualuga, who is still sporting a different look by dying some of his dreads for an orange and black look.

Asked what Burfict’s reaction was when Maualuga came back from the barber with all his hair, Maualuga said, “It’s words that I can’t say on camera.”

But Maualuga, who earlier today was removed from the Non-Football Injury list and is expected to take part in the first camp practice this afternoon, said eventually the hair will come off as soon as he finds someone willing to cut it.

“Eventually I will,” he said. “My daughter tells me to cut it all the time, so in due time I will.”
