Centerville High School senior Rich Rolf announced his verbal commitment to Charlotte on Friday.

Rolf, a 6-foot-7 forward, led the Elks with 17.3 points per game last season. He ranked third on the team with 14.1 points per game as a junior and third as a sophomore with 7.7 points per game.

Centerville won the Division I state championship when Rolf was a junior and lost in the state championship game this past season.

Rolf had offers from Miami, Toledo, Radford and many other schools. Charlotte offered him a scholarship in March. He’ll join a Charlotte program that finished 17-14 last season, the fourth for head coach Ron Sanchez.

Centerville’s roster this past season also included Tom House, a 2022 recruit who has signed with Florida State and Gabe Cupps, a 2023 guard who has committed to Indiana. Cupps won Ohio’s Mr. Basketball Award this year.
