The Cincinnati Bengals were the worst team in the least last season, and as such they figure to be right in the middle of some of the biggest stories of the offseason.

That begins with the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis at the end of February.

There the Bengals and everyone else in the league will get a close-up of LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who is considered the favorite to be their choice with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in Las Vegas in April.

Burrow, who transferred from Ohio State in the summer of 2018, is just one of several former Buckeyes who figure to hear their names called during the draft.

Between the combine and the draft, fans will also be eager to see who comes and goes via free agency, which begins in March.

Another question facing the team is whether or not they can agree to a long-term contract with star receiver A.J. Green. If not, they could designate him their franchise player.

Here are major dates to keep in mind (via the AP):

Feb. 24-March 2 — NFL scouting combine, Indianapolis.

Feb. 25 — First day for clubs to designate franchise or transition players.

March 10 — Deadline for clubs to designate franchise or transition players before 4 p.m. EDT

March 18 — Free agency, trading periods begin, 4 p.m. EDT

March 29-April 1 — Annual league meeting, Palm Beach, Fla.
