Kennard scores 13 as Duke advances to Sweet 16

Luke Kennard and the Duke Blue Devils are headed to the Sweet 16.

The defending-champion Blue Devils led by as many as 27 points before holding off Yale 71-64 on Saturday.

Kennard, a 6-foot-5 freshman guard from Franklin, scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and had two steals. He hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to help Duke (25-10) advance.

The fourth-seeded Blue Devils will face Oregon or St. Joseph’s in the West Region semifinals on Thursday.
