Thought by most bracketologists to be an eight or nine seed, a 10 seed at worst, the Flyers are an 11 seed and will face Boise State (25-8) on at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday at UD Arena in a First Four game.
The winner plays sixth-seeded Providence on Friday in Columbus in the East Region.
UD, which made a magical run to the Elite Eight last season, is in back-to-back NCAA tournaments for the first time since 2003-04.
