Jestin Jacobs is going west to continue his college football career.

The 6-foot-4, 238-pound linebacker from Northmont High School announced this week he will transfer to Oregon after four years at Iowa.

Jacobs redshirted in 2019, played a small role in 2020 then was fifth among the Hawkeyes with 53 tackles in 2021 when he started nine games and played in all 14 for Iowa.

He played two games this season before suffering a season-ending injury.

Jacobs was a four-star recruit in the class of 2019. He committed to Iowa during the spring before his senior season then rejected an offer to flip to Ohio State before signing day.

A national top 300 player, Jacobs was the No. 16 outside linebacker prospect and sixth-best player in Ohio in 247Sports Composite rankings.

He ran for 365 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior for the Thunderbolts while also logging 38 tackles and four sacks.
