In Brief
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his former coach, the late Terry Hoeppner, are two of six scheduled for induction into the Miami University Athletics Hall of Fame next winter, the school said Thursday.
The class also will include Dale Cohen (women’s tennis), P.L. (Pete) Miller (men’s track and field), Karin Sherr (synchronized skating) and Kyle Voska (golf).
Roethlisberger and Hoeppner were catalysts for one of the finest seasons in Miami history. The RedHawks finished 13-1 overall and 8-0 in MAC play in 2003, winning the program’s first MAC title since 1986 and finishing No. 10 in the final AP poll.
