About the Raiders

WSU is coming off its best performance of the season in a 68-44 win against UW-Milwaukee on Thursday. The Raiders shot 56.5 percent, made 11-of-18 3-pointers and held Milwaukee to 34.6 percent shooting. Cooper Land scored a career-high 21 points, including 5-of-6 3-pointers, and N’Gai Evans had a season-high six assists. WSU learned last week senior Vaughn Duggins is playing with a stress fracture in his back, and he had season lows of eight points and 20 minutes against Milwaukee. The last non-starter to score in double figures was Matt Vest with 15 points against Oakland on Nov. 23.

About the Phoenix

Green Bay is coming off a 79-56 loss against Detroit (which beat WSU 78-69 on Dec. 4). Rahmon Fletcher ranks third in the Horizon League in scoring and was a preseason first-team all-league pick. Bryquis Perine has grown into a solid scorer as well, and junior college transfer Jarvis Williams scored a career-high 15 points against Detroit. The team’s two main post players, Alec Brown and Daniel Turner, are both freshmen, and both fouled out against Detroit. First-year coach Brian Wardle is the league’s youngest coach, at 31.

FYI

WSU has won six straight home games against Green Bay by an average of 9.7 points.

Quote

“(Green Bay is) as good as any backcourt in the league. Fletcher is as good as anyone at point guard, and (Perine) is a good story, growing into a really good player as a senior.” — WSU coach Billy Donlon
