Dayton announced Thursday it will be part of the 2020 Myrtle Beach Invitational. The field also includes Charlotte, Loyola, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn, Pittsburgh and Utah State. Four of those teams are currently in the top 100 of the Ken Pomeroy ratings: Missouri, Dayton, Pittsburgh and Utah State.

The games will be played the week before Thanksgiving — Nov. 19, 20 and 22 — at the HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.

Four of the teams in the field are currently in the top 100 of the Ken Pomeroy ratings: No. 33 Missouri, No. 48 Utah State, No. 53 Dayton and No. 82 Pittsburgh. Utah State is the only team in the field that played in the NCAA tournament last season. Penn, Missouri and Loyola played in the NCAA tournament in 2018.

One potential storyline for Dayton would be center Jordy Tshimanga, who will be a redshirt senior next year, playing against his former school, Nebraska.

Dayton leaves Friday for the Maui Invitational and plays Georgia in the first round at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
