“I told them if you are on the team, you’ve earned your way on the team,” Metro coach Tony Saliba said. “They are out here to have fun, learn and compete. There is a lot of joy in competition.”
The three-day event drew 510 teams to the soccer showcase. Thirteen of the 45 championships were claimed by area soccer teams.
"Dayton has done very well," tournament co-director Carol Maas said. "I see our area growing in level of competition and competing in higher levels."
