The first members of the Dayton Flyers’ five-man 2017 recruiting class have arrived on campus.

“Dayton I’m here!” Jalen Crutcher wrote Saturday on Twitter.

Jordan Pierce arrived on campus last week and announced Sunday on Twitter he will wear No. 14 for the Flyers.

Crutcher was the first player recruited by new coach Anthony Grant and his staff to sign with the Flyers. He's a 6-foot-3 point guard from Ridgeway High School in Memphis, Tenn. He posted a video to Instagram of him making a long shot from near half court on UD's practice court at the Cronin Center.

Pierce, a 7-foot center from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, N.J., was one of three players recruited by Archie Miller and his staff to stay with the Flyers after the hiring of Grant. Guard Jordan Davis and forward Matej Svoboda are the others.

Most, if not all, of the 2017 class is expected to be on campus by June 26, when classes in the second summer session begin. Grant has said that will be an important time for the team as he starts installing his system and familiarizing the players with his terminology.
