Fans and foes alike were quick to react to a judge’s ruling in favor of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, which overturned the four-game suspension the Super Bowl MVP was facing.
Judge Richard Berman issued his ruling Thursday, nullifying Brady’s four-game suspension that the NFL had ordered for his alleged involvement in football tampering last season. The case, which included a lengthy investigation, became known as "Deflategate."
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Brady had been in settlement talks for weeks but no resolution was reached, which left the case in Berman’s hands.
Just hours after Berman's decision, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the league will appeal.
