Girls high school basketball All-Area teams

Corinne Thomas (Tecumseh), Maddie Frederick (Tippecanoe), Hayley Suchland (Northeastern) and Tatum McBride (Newton) are the All-Area girls high school basketball players of the year in their respective divisions for this past season.

Joining them are coaches of the year Ed Zink (Beavercreek), Jason Tincher (Bellbrook), Jacki Stonebraker (Versailles) and Mike Wiss (Minster).

A 5-foot-9 junior and the daughter of Arrows head coach Danielle Thomas, Corinne Thomas is the Division I player of the year. She averaged 23.3 points and had a career-high of 48 against Central Buckeye Conference newcomer Jonathan Alder. Tecumseh (19-6) has won three straight CBC Kenton Trail titles with Thomas in the lineup.

That was their seventh state final four appearance since 2007 and third time Versailles has played for a state championship in the last five seasons.
