Corinne Thomas (Tecumseh), Maddie Frederick (Tippecanoe), Hayley Suchland (Northeastern) and Tatum McBride (Newton) are the All-Area girls high school basketball players of the year in their respective divisions for this past season.
Joining them are coaches of the year Ed Zink (Beavercreek), Jason Tincher (Bellbrook), Jacki Stonebraker (Versailles) and Mike Wiss (Minster).
A 5-foot-9 junior and the daughter of Arrows head coach Danielle Thomas, Corinne Thomas is the Division I player of the year. She averaged 23.3 points and had a career-high of 48 against Central Buckeye Conference newcomer Jonathan Alder. Tecumseh (19-6) has won three straight CBC Kenton Trail titles with Thomas in the lineup.
A 6-foot senior move-in from Arizona, Frederick averaged 15.8 points for the Red Devils and is the D-II player of the year. Frederick provided extra boost to a strong lineup for Tipp (25-3), which won a Greater Western Ohio Conference American North title and advanced to a D-II regional for the fourth straight season. She signed with Iowa State University.

That was their seventh state final four appearance since 2007 and third time Versailles has played for a state championship in the last five seasons.
Wiss (D-IV) led Minster (26-3) to an impressive defeat of favored Ottoville in another state championship. Also coming out of the MAC, it was the third state title for the Wildcats, all since 1998.
