Gray Hitting Streak Ranked 4th Nationally

Garrett Gray, a sophomore on the Wright State baseball team, is currently tied for the fourth longest active hitting streak in Division I with his 28-game streak.

According to information compiled by Malcolm Gray, an Assistant Director of Media Relations at East Carolina University, Gray's 28-game streak ties him with Missouri State's Kevin Medrano for fourth.

Garrett Wittels of Florida International leads the way with a 42-game streak, followed Toledo's Chris Dudics at 31, Jerod Berggren of Northern Colorado at 30 and then Gray and Medrano.

The 28-game streak is tied for seventh overall this season as Delaware's Carlos Alonzo had a 32-game streak earlier this season while New Mexico's Rafael Neda ended at 31 and D.J. Long, also from Delaware, was stopped at 30 games.

During the streak, Gray is batting .415 (51 for 123) with nine home runs and 33 RBI. He has been selected twice as the Horizon League Batter of the Week, receiving the honor on April 19 and May 3.

Casey McGrew's 25-game hitting streak, which ended last week, is tied for the 16th longest this season.

Wright State (25-20, 13-6 Horizon) wraps up the home portion of its schedule this weekend with doubleheaders against Cleveland State on Saturday and Youngstown State on Sunday, both starting at 1:00.
