The date and details of their induction ceremony will be announced in November.
Holden was the Western Ohio League player of the year both his junior and senior seasons. He was the prototype point guard, able to shoot from the outside, get to the basket or find the open man.
The Creek teams were coached by his father, Larry, and had a three-year record of 69-7 and were regional runners-up his junior and senior years.
Holden also was an outstanding soccer player, earning Miami Valley Division I player of the year honors in 1999 as well being chosen first team D-I All-Ohio.
He played his college basketball at St. Joseph’s, Ind., where he is the school record-holder in assists.
Jackson was one of the top golfers in school history with a career average of 38.0 stroke per nine holes. He qualified for the state tournament his senior year when he earned first All-WOL honors.
Martin is the top receiver in Creek football history. In 1980 he caught 63 passes for 1,220 yards, which was the Miami Valley record for several years.
That season he had games of 11 catches for 249 yards versus Stebbins, 11 catches for 191 yards (Carroll), 10 catches for 171 yards (Xenia) and seven catches for 145 yards (Troy). He was a first-team Division I All-Ohio receiver.
In track he was a 49-second quarter-miler who ran on 400- and 1,600-meter relay teams that qualified for the state meet.
Smigel was one of the school’s best wrestlers with 104 career wins. He qualified to state three times and finished fourth in 1998.
He was the WOL wrestler of the year in 1997 and 1998 and a first-team selection on the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association All-Area team.
Ollier take fourth in Midwest meet
Katie Ollier, a recent graduate of Carroll High School, was the only female runner from the Dayton metro area on the Ohio all-star team that ran in the Midwest Meet of Champions event June 11 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The meet, sponsored by the track coaches associations from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana, brings together the best track athletes from their respective states for a season-ending meet. Each state chooses three individuals per event.
Ollier, a Beavercreek resident, was fourth in the 3,200 meters with a personal-best time of 10:52.34. She will run track and cross country for the University of Dayton.
Ollier and Xenia Christian sophomore Michaela Nelson were the top performers among Greene County girls at the Ohio state track meet June 3-4 in Columbus.
Ollier was third in the D-I 3,200 in 11:03.37. Nelson, also a Creek resident, was third in the Division III 400 meters in 58.13. Beavercreek’s Sydney Leiher was 16th in the D-I 800.
Zeke Young of Cedarville was the county’s top finisher among the boys, placing second in the D-III 400 (49.66). Teammate Troy Parrett was fifth in the D-III 800 (1:56.46). They teamed with Gabe Sayers and Jordan Rogers to take fifth in the D-III 1,600 relay (3:27.06).
Luke Sheridan tied for sixth in the high jump as Cedarville tied for eighth in the team standings with 18 points.
Mario Cosey of Yellow Springs was sixth in the D-III 100 (11.40). Jordan Redd of Fairborn was eighth in the D-I 3,200 (9:36.29). Carroll’s Chadd Kiggins, a Xenia resident, was 10th in the D-I 1,600 (4:18.74). Creek’s Cody Leiher was 14th in the in D-I 800 (1:57.04).
