Beavercreek’s boys soccer coach wins No. 350

The Beavercreek boys soccer team defeated Fairmont 4-0 at home on Tuesday night. The victory was the 350th coaching win for John Guiliano, who currently sits ninth all-time in wins amongst Ohio high school boys soccer coaches. Coach Guiliano is one win away from tying former Rocky River head coach Patrick Gillespie for 8th place.

Tristan Lyle, the Greater Western Ohio Conference’s leading goal-scorer, put the Beavers on the board first with his 20th goal of the season. The senior has now scored a goal in all but one game this year. Jorden Morales, Matt Williams, and Michael Phillipp added the other goals for Beavercreek, the No. 3 team in the Division I state coaches poll.

With the win, the Beavers (13-0-1, 4-0-1 GWOC) finished tied atop the GWOC Central division standings with Centerville, which defeated Wayne 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Girls Volleyball

Dixie def. Valley View, 3-0: The Greyhounds keep their perfect record intact (21-0) with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-10 victory over the Spartans. Amara Wylie led Dixie with 24 digs. Abby Bertke finished with 15 kills and Katie Honeywell added 32 assists. Dixie wraps up the regular season with a match at home against Waynesville on Thursday.

Mechanicsburg def. Riverside, 3-2: Mechanicsburg's Katie Bush recorded her 1000th career assist. Bush finished with 31 assists, 14 kills, 3 aces and 28 digs.

Troy d. Beavercreek, 3-2: Troy (19-2) snapped a four-game losing skid to the Beavers. Troy won the first match 29-27 before falling 25-23 and 25-15. However, the Trojans rebounded to win game four 26-24 and the decisive match 15-11. Lauren Freed and 22 kills and 18 digs, while Leslie Wynkoop finished with 49 assists and 4 aces for Troy.
