Bellbrook baseball sets records

The Bellbrook High School baseball team upset No. 1 seed Ross 2-0 and set several school records in a Division II sectional final Thursday, May 20.

Senior pitcher Jonny Thacker (10-1), the Southwestern Buckeye League player of the year, struck out 10 in setting a school record for wins in a season. The victory was Bellbrook’s 20th, another record.

Senior Tommy Chitwood went 2-for-3 with a double, and junior Jake Fryman tripled for the Golden Eagles.

Bellbrook improved to 20-6 and will play Bethel-Tate on Saturday at Mason; Ross fell to 23-5.
