Big fourth quarter rallies Eagles to road win

DAYTON — After being outscored 38-14 in the middle two quarters, the Middletown Christian School boys basketball team stormed back in the fourth quarter to score a 57-54 road victory over Miami Valley School.

The Eagles outscored the Rams 23-7 in the final stanza.

Zach Wise scored 20 points and Zach Henderson added 17 to pace MCS (11-5, 6-3). Josh Hall added nine points for the Eagles.

Harrison Smith had 20 points for Miami Valley (9-7, 4-5).

Preble Shawnee 56, Madison 48: Dylan Mann scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures for the host Arrows.

Jake Adams and Jake Elam had 12 points and David WIlloughby 11 for Shawnee (8-8).

Jeff Clemons had a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) to pace Madison, which was playing without a pair of starters — Alec Berry (ill) and Joey Adleta (foot injury). Brad Green added 11 points for the Mohawks (7-9).

Oakwood 55, Monroe 46: Trent Jervis led Oakwood (5-11) with 15 points. Grant Pepper scored 12, Tripp French 11.

Cameron Coleman led Monroe (4-14) with 17 and Manny Boateng scored 12.

Miamisburg 54, Lebanon 36: The Vikings only led by three after the third, but outscored Lebanon 19-4 in the fourth.

Connor Brown led Miamisburg (10-6, 3-5 GWOC South) with 22 points. John Giles had 15.

Bradd Ellis led Lebanon (2-15, 0-9) with 13.

Harrison 40, Edgewood 33: Jake Tarvin scored 18 points and Shane Page scored a dozen more to lead Harrison (8-7, 5-5) to a Fort Ancient Valley Conference win over Edgewood (1-15, 1-9)

The Cougars’ Mason Back led all scorers with 19 points. Four other Edgewood players combined for 14 points.

Springboro 79, Xenia 49: The host Panthers (14-3, 8-0) exploded for a 29-7 lead after one quarter, then pulled further away for a convincing win in Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division play.

Ryan Murray led Springboro with a game-high 22-point effort, and Maverick Morgan, Jake Pfahl, Jack Mapes and Matt Delbridge also scored in double figures.
