Butler’s Edwards throws gem against Franklin

Vandalia Butler 2, Franklin 0: Josh Edwards carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning with two outs. Franklin's Travis Lakins broke it up with a single. Edwards pitched a complete game, striking out seven. It was his second win.

John Myers had three hits, a run and an RBI for Vandalia Butler.

Northmont 10, Wayne 0: Troy Mangen pitched six innings for Northmont, striking out 12. He also had a double and two RBIs. Dustin Easton had three hits and three RBIs.

National Trail 5, Bethel 4: National Trail scored a run in the top of the seventh to get the win.

Tri-Village 9, Twin Valley South 7: Tyler Cook got his second win for Tri-Village. He was 2-for-3 from the plate with a double and three RBIs.

Centerville 5, Beavercreek 2: Centerville has won eight of nine to start the season. Andrew Burr was 2-for-4 while Brian Mroz doubled and got the win.

Lebanon 14, Springfield 7: Lebanon scored 12 in the first two innings.

Miamisburg 17, Fairborn 3: Lance Brockman and Wes Birchmeier both homered for Miamisburg. Brockman had four RBIs while Birchmeier had five.

Carlisle 18, Dayton Christian 7: Alec Turner was 3-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs and Clay Chasteen was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored for Carlisle (12-1).

Softball

Lebanon 6, Springfield 0: Starter Kim Frank (7-1) struck out ten in a complete game and Casie Hutchinson hit a home run with three RBIs for Lebanon (9-1).

Northmont 10, Wayne 0: Libby Pfeffer had a grand slam and a double, knocking in five runs, and starter Jordan Stoltz struck out three in a six inning shutout for Northmont (8-1).

Carroll 11, West Carrollton 6: Carroll scored five runs in the eighth inning to take the lead after trailing by four in the sixth. Starter Katlyn Mueller (6-4) struck out eight and had three singles.

Dixie 10, Oakwood 2: Starter Tori Bargo (4-6) struck out ten in a complete game for Dixie (4-6). Oakwood fell to 0-4.

Covington 2, Miami East 1: Casey Yingst had a basehit in the gap to score Jessie Shilt for the winning run for undefeated Covington (12-0).

Tippecanoe 4, Ben Logan 2: Starter Bri Eichbaum got her ninth win on the year for Tippecanoe (11-4).

Urbana 8, Tecumseh 7: Urbana plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh for the rally win.

Tri-County North 4, Ansonia 2: Starter Kierstan Hemmrich struck out three in her first varsity win for TCN (5-2).

Houston 16, Russia 0: Hannah Trent homered for Houston (8-3).
