Chaminade Julienne sets school record in win

Chaminade Julienne scored 33 points in the final quarter to blunt a rally from Purcell Marian in an 83-71 boys high school basketball victory Friday.

Alan Vest led CJ (3-0) with 27 points and Myo Baxter-Bell added 22.

The Eagles also set a school record by sinking 96 percent of their free throws (23-of-24).

Fairmont 71, Northmont 53: Kei’Vante Tanner poured in 35 points with 15 rebounds for Fairmont (3-0).

Fairborn 54, Miamisburg 41: Jordan Pumroy paced Fairborn (2-1) with 21 points.

Xenia 59, Lebanon 57: A 23-9 run in the final quarter left Lebanon (1-2) just short against Xenia (2-1).

Springboro 82, West Carrollton 47: Drew Holweger tallied 21 points for Springboro (2-2).

Sidney 47, Vandalia 46: Cameron Gallimore hit his second consecutive buzzer-beater to help Sidney (2-2) snap an 11-game losing streak to Vandalia (1-1).

Greenville 53, Troy 26: Clay Guillozet recorded 19 points for Greenville (3-0).

Kenton Ridge 48, Tippecanoe 39: Jordan Bailey led Kenton Ridge (3-0) with 24 points.

Bellefontaine 55, Stebbins 45: Ja’Quan Dangerfield scored 22 points in a losing effort.

Dunbar 88, Belmont 54: A.J. Harris and Ka’Juan Ford each had 16 points for Dunbar (3-0).

Thurgood Marshall 67, Meadowdale 54: Darnell Hoskins Jr. tallied 21 points for Thurgood (2-1).

Alter 74, Badin 35: Keegan Saben tallied 12 points and Michael Schwieterman added 11 in the season opener for Alter (1-0).

Carroll 44, McNicholas 42: A last-second 3-pointer by McNicholas was ruled after the buzzer, allowing Carroll (3-0) to escape with the win. Jackson Jabir and David Ivey each tallied 12 points for the Patriots.

Northridge 74, Carlisle 53: Drew Ogletree scored 14 points to lead four players in double-digit scoring for Northridge (2-1).

Milton-Union 63, Preble Shawnee 55: Matt Brumbaugh paced Milton-Union (2-1) with 16 points.

Miami East 64, Arcanum 24: Damien Mackesy had 18 points with 10 rebounds for Miami East (2-0).

Greeneview 46, Mechanicsburg 37: Mason Schneider paced Greeneview (2-0) with 18 points.

St. Henry 55, St. Mary’s 39: Ryan Mikesell poured in 31 points for St. Henry (2-1).

Versailles 56, New Bremen 50: Kyle Ahrens tallied 22 points for Versailles (1-1), going over the 1,000-point mark for his career.

Girls basketball

Temple Christian 53, Sidney Christian 32: Olivia Mamula poured in 32 points and Grace Mamula added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Temple Christian (4-2).
