Cook scores 50 in Tri-Village win

Damion Cook poured in a career-high 50 points to help unbeaten Tri-Village shake off a scare from Lehman Catholic in an 86-70 boys basketball win Friday.

Tri-Village (21-0) trailed by three at the half.

Jackson Frantz led Lehman Catholic (12-8) with 23 points.

Xenia 61, Fairborn 45: Brent Bauer led Xenia (17-4) with 14 points and Jevon Johnson had 12 points with 13 rebounds to lead Xenia to a Greater Western Ohio Conference South title. Jordan Pumroy finished with 26 points for Fairborn (13-9).

Springboro 70, Lebanon 62: Springboro (13-9) edged Lebanon (13-9) for the season-sweep.

West Carrollton 76, Miamisburg 63: Mehdi Hossein tallied 23 points and Alex Craig added 13 for West Carrollton (5-17). Adam Giles led Miamisburg (8-14) with 25.

Fairmont 61, Beavercreek 58: Jacob Maloney had 19 points and Kei'Vante Tanner added 17 for Fairmont (18-4). Jackson Back led Beavercreek (6-16) with 21 points.

Greenville 87, Sidney 58: Clay Guillozet scored 29 points, passing the 1,000 point mark for his career, and Greenville (16-4) won the GWOC North title outright. Aaron Alsbaugh added 23 points with 18 rebounds for the Green Wave.

Trotwood 68, Vandalia 50: DeLaquan McGuire scored 13 points and Amir and Andre Foster each had 11 for Trotwood (14-8). Zack Ledbetter and Nnaemeka Anene led Vandalia (2-20) with 10 points apiece.

Piqua 69, Troy 59: Colton Bachman paced Piqua (12-10) with 20 points, including his 1,000th career point. Tre Hudson tallied 23 points for Troy (6-16).

Franklin 101, Valley View 50: Luke Kennard poured in 35 points and Evan Crowe added 25 for Franklin (21-1). The Wildcats hit 20 3-point baskets in the game, six apiece from Kennard and Crowe.

Chaminade Julienne 50, McNicholas 41: Alan Vest scored 14 points and Christian Montague and Myo Baxter-Bell each had 13 for CJ (16-6).

Alter 48, Carroll 43: An 11-0 run to finish the game gave Alter (11-10) the win. Dean Lemon led the way with 14 points and Chris Finke added 10. David Ivey had 11 points for Carroll (16-5).

Meadowdale 58, Thurgood Marshall 51: Mark Bass had 13 points and Kevon Huguely added 11 for Meadowdale. Justin Thomasson led Thurgood with 16.

Troy Christian 79, Middletown Christian 37: Grant Zawadzki tallied 11 points, 12 assists and 14 steals for Troy Christian (19-2). The 14 steals tied a state record.

Bethel 50, Mississinawa Valley 46: Evan Hawthorn paced Bethel (13-9) with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Russia 73, Fairlawn 49: Nolan Francis scored 17 points and Gavin Hoying had 12 points with 10 rebounds to help Russia (18-3) clinch its second-straight Shelby County Athletic League title.

St. Henry 54, Fort Recovery 53: Ryan Mikesell had 22 points with 11 rebounds to help St. Henry (18-2) edge Fort Recovery (6-14).

Minster 65, Versailles 58: Matthew Trushaw paced Minster with 16 points. Kyle Ahrens had 34 points in a losing effort.
