Girls soccer: Badin downs Mercy 2-1

BOYS SOCCER

HAMILTON 8, EDGEWOOD 1: The Big Blue rolled Saturday on Senior Night. Taylor Childs and Jonathan Fox scored two goals apiece and Cabral Christian, A.J. Morrison, Nick Phillips and Jordan Weislogel had single tallies. Fox and Dustin Ward had two assists apiece, while Phillips and Chris Asher had one assist each. Goalkeeper Jake Binegar had four saves for HHS (4-6-4).

MONROE 5, EDGEWOOD 0: Five players each scored one goal to lead the Hornets to a nonleague win on Monday night. Jamey King, Zach Holbrock, Julio Leon, Dallas Finley and Alex Hall each scored for Monroe (9-3-2). Pat McIntosh, Aaron Basford and Ben Lapham combined in goal for the shutout. Edgewood falls to 3-11-1.

BADIN 2, MERCY 1: Allie Crossley scored one goal and Mercy helped give the Rams the win with an own goal off a corner kick on Monday night at the Miami Whitewater field. Badin’s Morgan Walker and Abby Fritsch combined in goal for seven saves. The Rams (6-5-3) will host Ursuline on Wednesday for Senior night.

WAYNE 3, EDGEWOOD 0: The Cougars fall to 7-4-3 on the season with the road loss on Monday night. No game details were reported.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

EDGEWOOD 3, FRANKLIN 0: Bethany Kelly led the Cougars in hitting, Amanda Hobbs led the way with her setting while Suzanne Frizell and Erin Sharp were the team’s top servers in Monday’s 25-13, 25-13, 25-15 nonleague win over visiting Franklin. Edgewood (8-12) will host Northwest at 7 p.m. tonight for Parents Night.

LAKOTA WEST 3, ST. URSULA 0: The Firebirds celebrated Senior Night with straight set wins 25-22, 25-21, 25-19 on Monday to improve to 17-3 on the season. No game details were reported. Lakota West will travel to Colerain today.

CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 3, NEW MIAMI 0: Cincinnati Christian won a Miami Valley Conference match 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 on Monday. The Cougars were led by Dani Rodulfo with 13 kills and two blocks. Katie Vandenberg added four aces, four kills and 25 assists for CCS. New Miami was led by Heather Thacker (10 kills, three blocks, 13 digs) and Alyssa Rison (eight kills, two blocks, nine digs). The Vikings (5-12, 1-10 MVC) will host Seven Hills on Wednesday, while the Cougars travel to Badin the same day.

ANDERSON 3, FAIRFIELD 2: Fairfield took Anderson five sets before losing by scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-10 on Monday night. Karsen Cronin (32 kills, 13 digs) and Jamie Hoskinson (17 digs) led the Indians (11-9). Nicole Merrill and Kynesha Pitts combined for nine kills and nine blocks. Fairfield will host Sycamore today.
