Late six-run inning lifts Elks to 6-2 win over Ross

Caroline Ferrazza knocked in a pair of runs in a six-run sixth inning to lift host Centerville to a 6-2 win over Ross in high school softball action on Saturday.

Sophomore Amanda Ross went 2-for-4 with a triple, and senior Mollie Paulick struck out 12 for the win.

Tecumseh 11, Miami East 1, gm 1: Freshman Nina Smith homered and drove in two runs for Tecumseh. Ashley Fite and Micaela Pierson also had 2 RBIs each. Jessica Wilson struck out 9 in the Arrows’ win.

Tecumseh 10, Miami East 0, gm 2: Ashley Fite blanked the visiting Vikings on one hit. Fite also tripled and drove in four runs. Julia Jones added a home run for Tecumseh (5-0).

Miamisburg 7, Fairmont 6: Emily Kepple had 2 RBIs to lead the Vikings.

Miamisburg 14, Vandalia Butler 3: Miamisburg’s Ashley Haas belted a three-run home run and Carrina Butler finished with 5 RBIs.

Triad 10, Newton 0: Abby Ehrenborg launched two home runs and added a double in leading Triad (3-0) to the win.

Southeastern 10, Cin. Country Day 0: Logan McFann tossed a no-hitter and struck out 12.

Minster 9, Delphos Jefferson 3: Emma Schmiesing went 3-for-3 with a triple, and Taylor Homan doubled and scored three times for Minster.


Vandalia Butler 7, LaSalle 6: Damon Dues, Matt Grossman, and Noah Ballard each drove in a pair of runs to lead the Aviators (5-0).

CJ 11, Brookville 1, gm 1: Mark Barhorst went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and Shawn Steffan added a pair of hits and an RBI to lead CJ. Sophomore Ben Thomas picked up the win.

CJ 9, Brookville 1, gm 2: Stephen Hoendorf and Thomas Ellison each drove in two runs, and sophomore Ryan Peltier earned the win for the Eagles (5-1).

Lebanon 8, Chillicothe 3: Tyler Inloes doubled and tripled and drove in four runs for Lebanon (3-0).

Bellefontaine 11, WL-Salem 1, gm 1: Sammy Martz went 3-for-3 with 5 RBIs. Chase Braun also had three hits and scored three times for the Chieftains.

Bellefontaine 5, WL-Salem 0, gm 2: Tommy Belser and Lane Wisner combined on a no-hitter. Clay Wisner and Tyler Jones drove in two runs apiece.

Sidney 15, Urbana 3: Jacob Cooper, Kaine Fischer and Austin McLain each had three hits to lead Sidney.

St. Henry 5, Lima Central Catholic 2: Mitchel Stammen picked up his second win, allowing three hits and striking out six. Josh Osterholt pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.
