MIDDLETOWN CHRISTIAN 14, XENIA CHRISTIAN 5: Nate Cox collected four hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs and also was the winning pitcher for the Eagles in a game played Wednesday. Other offensive standouts for Middletown Christian were Marcus Miller, a two-run homer, and Jake Irving, two hits with a double and four RBIs. The Eagles improved to 10-7 overall.
FENWICK 13, DIXIE 5: Zach Hart hit a grand slam and the Falcons, who scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to take control, ran its record to 7-14. Hart went 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Other hitting leaders for Fenwick were Caleb Bolton, 3-for-4 with two runs; Jamie Vaughn and Zane Vogelsang, both 2-for-4 with two runs; and Nick Vannelle, 2-for-4. The winning pitcher was A.J. Schraffenberger.

HARRISON 7, EDGEWOOD 1: Maddie Slusher went 1-for-1 with an RBI and Kelsie Saurber was 1-for-2 for the Cougars in Wednesday’s loss. Edgewood fell to 13-10 overall. Harrison stands 13-5.
MADISON 10, NORTHRIDGE 0: Hannah Kendrick pitched a five-inning perfect game for the Mohawks in Wednesday’s Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division contest. She struck out 14 out of 15 batters and also did damage at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored.
BROOKVILLE 5, FRANKLIN 4: Chelsea Miller pitched all 13 innings for the Wildcats in this marathon on Wednesday, allowing only seven hits. Franklin (11-12) was led on offense by Kristen Gebhardt, 2-for-6 with a double and RBI; and Rachel Wolsefer, 2-for-6. Both starting pitchers went the distance.

MADISON GIRLS THIRD AT NORTHRIDGE: Sarah Chaney was the only first-place winner for the Madison High School girls track team on Tuesday, May 4 at the Northridge Invitational. Chaney won the high jump by clearing the bar at 4 feet, 9 inches. She also placed second in the long jump (15-10). The Mohawks had four other runners-up including Allison Bundy (16.4 seconds) in the 100-meter hurdles, Mikayla Daniel (101-7) in the discus, Stephanie Robinson (13:53) in the 3,200 run, and Michelle Brunswick (5:56) in the 1,600 run. The Mohawks placed third in the team standings.
FENWICK GIRLS WIN CHCA INVITATTIONAL: The Falcons finished first in the field of 13 with 132.5 points, well ahead of runner-up Cincinnati Country Day (87), on Wednesday, May 6 at the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Invitational. Winners for Fenwick were Alyssa Zearley, 100 hurdles (16.80 seconds) and 300 hurdles (48.58); Emily Schaffer, long jump (16 feet, 6 3/4 inches); Kate Colley, 400 dash, (1:01.63); Elizabeth Brink, 3,200 run (13:33.79); and Schaffer, Kristin Thompson, Molly Sennett and Zearley, 800 relay (1:53.13).
FENWICK BOYS PLACE FIFTH: The Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy boys team won its own invitational with 116 points, followed in the top five by Williamsburg, 108; Northwest, 107; Clark Montessori, 75; and Fenwick, 66. Winners for the Falcons were Joey Robertson, 100-meter dash (11.38 seconds); Zack Kurtz, long jump (20 feet, 4 inches); Andy McCarthy, 3,200 run (11:25.90); and Kurtz, Patrick Crane, Tony Sora and Robertson, 400 relay (44.99).

FAIRFIELD 3, EDGEWOOD 0: In a match played on Wednesday, May 5, the Cougars (6-13) were led by Jake Davis, nine kills, and Brennan Shepherd, strong defense.
FENWICK 3, WAYNE 0: The Falcons won 25-3, 25-20, 25-8 on Wednesday to raise their record to 8-9. Wayne dropped to 1-9.
MIDDLETOWN 3, FAIRBORN 1: The Middies prevailed 25-18, 22-25, 25-12, 25-17 on Wednesday behind the play of Gabe Staton, 40 assists; Jake Barbaree, 20 kills; and Steffen Schemmann, 10 kills. Also playing well for Middletown (10-6) was Josh Williams, who recorded seven kills and five blocks. Middletown’s contest against Northmont originally scheduled for today, May 6, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 12.
