MIDDIES FOURTH AT PRINCETON INVITE: Middletown improved its team score by three strokes over Monday’s season-opening round, but finished fourth overall in the 17-team Princeton Invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Sharon Woods Golf Course. The Middies shot 306 to finish two strokes behind champion Mason (304). Lakota West (305) was second and La Salle (305) was third. Conor O’Hea had his second straight 73 and placed third overall as an individual. Jimmy Parks (75), Tyler Males (76) and Jake Fletcher (82) also contributed for Middletown, which will compete today in the Beavercreek Invitational at Beavercreek Golf Club.
MIDDLETOWN CHRISTIAN 13TH AT PRINCETON INVITE: Junior Brooks Curry had a solid 76 to lead Middletown Christian on Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the Princeton Invitational at Sharon Woods Golf Course. The Eagles shot 341 as a team to place 13th out of 17 teams. Luke Dotson (86), Erik Gregory (89) and Grant Nisbet (90) also contributed for Middletown Christian.

SPRINGBORO WINS GWOC PRESEASON TITLE: Springboro shot 348, three strokes better than runner-up Miamisburg to win the Greater Western Ohio Conference Preseason Tournament championship Wednesday, Aug. 11. The Panthers were led by Meghan Schuetz, who tied for fifth among individuals with 82. Other low Springboro scores were turned in by Laura Webendorfer, 85; Morgan Stanley, 88; and Emily Dippold, 93. Lebanon shot 442 to finish 11th in the team standings and was led by Chandler Watson with 96.
LAWWILL FOURTH AT MIDDIE INVITE: Middletown’s Allie Lawwill shot 76 to place fourth among individuals Wednesday, Aug. 11, in the Middletown Invitational at Weatherwax Golf Course. Mason Green won the team title at 301 and the Middies placed 21st at 438. Jessica Zhang of Mason Green won the individual crown with a scorecard playoff victory over teammate Emily Wright after both carded a 72.
