Bruce, 23, provided what is thus far the iconic moment at Great American Ball Park with a walk-off home run to clinch the National League Central Division in late September.
Bruce hit .281 with 25 home runs and 70 RBIs last year to help lead the Reds to their first division title since 1995. He had a .575 slugging percentage and a .951 OPS in the second half of the season.
Bruce would have been eligible for salary arbitration in February as a “Super Two’’ category service time player.
The Reds signed pitcher Bronson Arroyo to a three-year, $35 million contract extension last Friday. And the team also has expressed interest in negotiating a multi-year contract with first baseman and National League MVP Joey Votto.
