The Bengals made it official Tuesday morning: former Browns head coach Hue Jackson is joining the coaching staff as a special assistant to head coach Marvin Lewis.
Jackson will be making his third stop as an assistant with Lewis and the Bengals.
Jackson was fired last month after two-plus seasons leading the Browns. He was 3-36-1 over that span.
Browns fans were amused; Bengals fans, not so much.

Earlier in the season a Cleveland Browns player compared Hue Jackson to Michael Scott. A few weeks later Hue Jackson is given an “Assistant to the Head Coach” job. Couldn’t script this stuff any better...

If the Bengals failed to make the playoffs, and Marvin Lewis is fired....will the HC spot be awarded to Hue Jackson? 🤔

Marvin Lewis AND Hue Jackson... what could go wrong!!

Maybe the Bengals are hiring Hue Jackson because they have two games left against the Browns this season and they need someone with experience slowing Baker Mayfield down on the football field.

Thank God that Hue Jackson is bringing his winning mentality back to Cincinnati

I like the Hue Jackson hire and would love to see him take over for Marvin Lewis after this season (or right now honestly) #WhoDey #FireMarvin #SeizeTheDey

This is true, but it also means the Browns will be paying Hue Jackson to help the Bengals try to beat the Browns twice this season. https://t.co/GA3kt5FldN

“There’s no downside whatsoever for the Bengals to pick him up.”

Not so popular take: Hue Jackson will help the Bengals...he understands football in a vacuum and will help Andy Dalton. Bottom line is that he is not a great head coach and definitely is not a good enough coach to turn around a whole franchise.

The funniest thing about this whole Hue Jackson situation is that #Browns fans act like the Bengals did it do they could beat them... A team with 4 wins in 3 years thinks other teams need an edge to beat them.. 😂😂😂

Hue Jackson will be the one that gets Marvin Lewis over the playoff hump 😂😂😂😂

I'm so torn on this Hue Jackson hiring. On one hand, he's been responsible for one of the best offenses Cincy ever had, but on the other, 3-36-1.

The world's worst football coach Hue Jackson lands with Marvin in Cincinnati.

Shocker huh?
Hue Jackson joining the Bengals coaching staff is an interesting experiment. Him and Marvin Lewis working together to take the Bengals to the playoffs with Andy Dalton leading the way at QB. Very interesting. pic.twitter.com/YkpCMf8QmF

The Bengals hire Hue Jackson as a special assistant.

Whenever Steelers fans complain, they should be forced to look to the Ohio teams to gain some perspective.
So, this opens it up for Marvin Lewis to eventually step back to a front office role, and firmly places the HC job in Hue Jackson’s lap. Those #Bengals fans right about now... pic.twitter.com/xaJ41K2lMH

Fans happy Austin fired.

Marvin adds Hue to help.
Fans back to unhappy.
Fans would have ripped #Bengals for going shorthanded/having Marvin do it all on sidelines.
Got it.
