Middletown's Coffing 2nd in LPGA Futures Tour event

MARION, Iowa — Middletown native Carling Coffing fired a 1-over-par 73 Sunday to earn her best career finish — tied for second — on the LPGA Futures Tour.

Coffing’s 54-hole total was even-par 216 over the 6,445-yard, par-72 layout at Hunters Ridge Golf Course.

Coffing finish tied with Jean Chua, just one shot back of winner Kathleen Ekey. Coffing earned $9,419.

Coffing will be competing in the Future Tour’s Teva Championship at the Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason.
