Milton-Union to add four to athletic hall of fame

Milton-Union High School will add four members to its athletic hall of fame Saturday.

Former Bulldogs athletes Jim Hansen, Kortney Krieger, Chantel Van Dyke Rammel and Joe Creech will comprise Milton’s ninth HOF class.

An induction ceremony will be held at the high school after the 6 p.m. girls basketball game against visiting Oakwood and before the 8 p.m. boys game.

A 4 p.m. preceding reception that is open to the public will be held at the school’s auditorium. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.

Nominations for next year’s hall of fame class are being accepted through Feb. 1. Forms are available at the high school or the school website.

  • Joe Creech (1996 graduate): Wrestling. Outstanding male athlete as a senior. Milton's only state wrestling champion. Career wrestling record of 122-16, including 38-1 as a senior. Three-time Southwestern Rivers Conference champion.
  • Jim Hansen (1966): Football, basketball and track and field. Ten varsity letters, All-American in football as a senior. Southwestern Buckeye League discus and shot put champion as a senior. Finished as No. 2 career scorer in basketball.

Played college basketball at Baptist College (S.C.), since renamed Charleston Southern.

  • Kortney Krieger (1982): Football, wrestling and baseball. Graduated as the Bulldogs' all-time leading rusher. Won SWBL and district wrestling titles and was fourth at state as a senior. Two-time All-SWBL in baseball.
  • Chantel Van Dyke Rammel (1986): Tennis and softball. MVP in softball, All-SWBL and All-District. Bulldogs' three-time tennis MVP and two-time state qualifier. Graduated as the program's career leader in singles victories. Four-year player at the University of Toledo.
