The schedule concludes with a home game against Indianapolis, marking the 22nd time in the last 23 years the Bengals and Colts have met in the preseason.
The last time Cincinnati traveled beyond the Central Time Zone for a preseason game was 1996, when they fell 13-10 to the Cardinals in Phoenix in the only other preseason meeting between the franchises.
The Bengals will play the Cardinals at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, in what should be the team’s second meeting against Palmer, who played in Cincinnati from 2004-11 before being traded to Oakland. The Raiders visited Paul Brown Stadium in a 2012 regular-season game.
The exact date and times for the other three preseason games have not been announced. The Kansas City contest will be the weekend of Aug. 7-11, while the Jets matchup will be the weekend of Aug. 14-18. The preseason finale against Indianapolis is slated for Thursday, Aug. 28, with the start TBA.
The opener at Kansas City will mark the first time the Bengals have played the Chiefs in the preseason since 1988, while the home contest against the Jets will mark the 10th time those teams have squared off in the preseason.
There could be some added interest in that game resulting from the friendship between Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis and Jets head coach Rex Ryan. Last year the Bengals held joint practices with the Falcons ahead of their preseason game in Atlanta, so a similar agreement could be in the works with Ryan and the Jets.
The game against Indianapolis will mark the 12th consecutive season the Bengals have ended the preseason against the Colts. Cincinnati also will visit Indianapolis during the regular season.
The NFL is expected to release the regular-season schedule later this month.
