Today in Super Bowl history (Feb. 6)

There have been two Super Bowls played on today’s date.

Do you remember these games?

Feb 6, 2011

Super Bowl XLV – Green Bay Packers 31, Pittsburgh Steelers 25

The Packers jumped out to a 21-3 lead on a pair of Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes and a Nick Collins interception return for a score.

After the Steelers closed to within 21-17 late in the third quarter, Rodgers threw his third touchdown pass of the game to boost the lead back to double digits on the way to a 304-yard performance that earned him the MVP award.

Two years after leading a game-winning drive in Super Bowl XLIII, Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hit a couple of quick passes with his team down six and less than two minutes to go. But the Green Bay defense forced three consecutive incompletions after that to seal the win.
