Coleman, 30, has spent six years in the majors, including his first five with the Royals.
Kansas City drafted him in the fifth round in 2009 out of LSU.
He has a career ERA of 3.51 with two saves in 213 games.
Last season, Coleman pitched a career-high 61 games for the Dodgers. He struck out 45 and walked 24 in 48 innings.
