Reds place pitcher on disabled list

The Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday placed rookie pitcher Rookie Davis on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right forearm he suffered Tuesday night in Pittsburgh when he was hit by a pitch.

To fill Davis’ spot on the roster, the Reds recalled right-handed pitcher Barrett Astin from Triple-A Louisville.

The Reds go for a sweep of the Pirates tonight in Pittsburgh.
