Report: Dayton to play in Bahamas in 2018

Holiday tournament also includes Florida, Wisconsin among others

The Dayton Flyers will play in the Bahamas in 2018, according to a report Wednesday by Jon Rothstein, of FanRagSports.com, and the eight-team field will be as strong as any Dayton has seen in an early-season tournament.

Dayton will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis, along with Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia, Butler, Stanford, Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee State. Five of the eight teams played in the NCAA tournament in 2017.

The Battle 4 Atlantis takes place on Paradise Island, Bahamas, a short drive from the capital of Nassau. Atlantis is a large resort with a water park, golf course and numerous hotel rooms and villas.

The dates for the 2018 games have not been announced, but the tournament takes place Nov. 22-24 this season. Teams play three games in three days.

This will be the first time Dayton has played in the Battle 4 Atlantis. It will play in the Charleston (S.C.) Classic this season. It played in the Wooden Legacy in Anaheim, Calif., last season. It the Advocare Invitational in Orlando, the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic and the Maui Invitational in recent years.
