H.S. Results for 4/21: Northmont bests Centerville in extra innings

Will Ludington brought in Logan Jewsikow for the game-winning run in the eighth inning as Northmont topped Centerville 2-1 in baseball Friday.

Jewsikow reached on an error and Dylan Guth moved him into scoring position with a sac-bunt to set up Ludington’s heroics.

Jewsikow finished 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored and Cole Stephens picked up the win in relief.

Thomas Jenkins was 2-for-3 with a RBI for Centerville and starter Alex Firsdon had a strong outing.

Northmont improved to 10-5; Centerville fell to 9-6.

Baseball

Lebanon 6, Wayne 0: Jackson Palcic improved to 3-0 and A.J. Fritz and Tyler Inloes each went 1-for-2 to lead Lebanon to a 14th consecutive victory.

Springboro 8, Fairmont 3: Justin McConnell knocked a home run and Bryce Haberthier was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead ‘Boro. Elliot Kurtz doubled and drove in a run for Fairmont.

Tippecanoe 5, Fairborn 3: Justyn Eichbaum struck out ten to improve to 2-0, and Andrew Kraska and Clay Barhorst each went 2-for-3 with a triple to lead Tipp.

Indian Lake 16, Sidney 1: Nate Kaffenbarger went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and four RBI for Lake. Jack Feazel collected two hits and drove in the lone run for Sidney.

Oakwood 7, Bellbrook 0: Hugh Conard notched his first win and Mark Lauterbach tallied three hits, including a double, and four RBI to lead Oakwood. Nolan Sizemore doubled for Bellbrook.

Eaton 10, Valley View 5: Colton Gray went 3-for-4 with three doubles, Brad Curry was 2-for-3 with two doubles and Trevor Pittman and Henry Durham each had a home run to lead Eaton.

Waynesville 15, Milton Union 0: Mason Callahan tallied nine strikeouts in the win, Kyle Leis had a 4-for-4 night with a double and two RBI and Tommy Issacs was 3-for-3 with two RBI for Waynesville.

Madison 12, Northridge 2: Cam Svarda plated five runs in a 2-for-2 night, Dustin Skinner was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and Ethan Waldo added five strikeouts in two innings of relief to pace Madison. Seth Deaton went 3-for-3 with a RBI for Northridge.

Ross 8, Little Miami 0: Drew Huffman notched ten strikeouts in the win and Michael Carroll was 2-for-3 with four RBI to lead Ross.

Southeastern 8, Greeneview 1: Wesley Earles punched out 15 batters in a dominant outing. He also was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI to help his cause. Taylor Stinson was 1-for-3 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot for Greeneview.

Tri-County North 5, Northwestern 4: TCN broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the seventh. Chandler Sproles and Tanner Booth brought in two runs apiece.

Seton Catholic 8, National Trail 3: Peyton Miller had two hits, including a triple, in a losing effort for Trail.

Anna 19, Covington 4: Zach White tripled and drove in four and Seth Roe and Aidan Endsley each doubled and plated multiple runs to lead Anna. Mason Dilley had a double for Covington.

Softball

Northmont 6, Centerville 1: Erin Mangen smashed a home run and Marissa Bardonaro improved to 5-0 on the mound for Northmont. Kelly Edsall hit a solo shot for Centerville.

Beavercreek 7, Sidney 6: Grace Shell was 2-for-3 with a double and struck out eight on the mound but Sidney’s rally fell short.

Hamilton 8, Colerain 3: Autumn Griffie doubled, plated three runs and earned the win on the mound. Ashley Halcomb and Destiny Anderson added three hits apiece for Hamilton.

Monroe 17, Purcell Marian 0: Faith Hensley and Alexis Arnold each homered and Jillian Taylor picked up her second win on the mound for Monroe.

Carlisle 6, Dixie 2: Mckinlee Ruppert was 3-for-4 with a run scored and Haley Woolery drove in a run in a losing effort for Dixie.

McNicholas 8, Fenwick 5: Abby Gustely went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Rachel Berling plated a pair of runs in a losing effort for Fenwick.

West Liberty-Salem 17, Catholic Central 1: Kelsey Day blasted a three-run homer, Dierdre McGill was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Kenedie Cox was 3-for-3 with four stolen bases to lead WLS.

Triad 8, Fairbanks 6: Abby Ehrenborg clobbered two home runs, driving in four, and Madison Dolby and Bri Eaton each went 2-for-3 to lead Triad.

Riverside 4, Bradford 3: Helena Faulder singled in the game-winning run to help Riverside win in walkoff fashion. Jordyn Marshall struck out five to earn the win.

Boys Tennis

Ross 3, Northwest 2: Justin Bolin, Zac Duggins and Spencer Wallace notched wins as Ross swept the singles portion.

Edgewood 4, Franklin 1: Ross Hamey of Edgewood rallied in a three set match to beat Dalton Campbell. Trey Moore and David Winter also had singles wins for Edgewood.

Waynesville 5, Carlisle 0: Ben and David Muth and Gehrig Habermehl grabbed singles wins to lead Waynesville.

Preble Shawnee 3, Dixie 2: Pierce Elliott beat Jacob Foster in first singles and Preble swept the doubles matches to earn the win. Mason Swigart and Nathan Scurlock picked up the two singles wins for Dixie.

Miami Valley 5, Kenton Ridge 0: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov and Reece Quigley all won in straight sets for Miami Valley.

Boys Volleyball

McNicholas 3, Carroll 2: Brun recorded 21 kills with 16 digs and Bethel added 48 assists but Carroll fell victim to a McNicholas rally.
