Mason rebounded, taking two hard fought sets 25-22 and 25-22, handing Ursuline their first dropped set since October 3rd.
Ursuline found their momentum again in the fifth and final set, shutting down Mason 15-7 to save their season.
The match was only the third time this season that Ursuline has been taken to five sets and the first time Mason has played a five set match.
Ursuline will face Mount Notre Dame in the Division I regional finals on Saturday.
Girls Volleyball
Mount Notre Dame 3, Mother of Mercy 1: Mother of Mercy’s final volleyball game ended up a heartbreaker after a strong start, taking the first set 25-23. Unfortunately, Mercy couldn’t hold on and MND rallied back to take the next three, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-22.
Alter 3, Fenwick 2: After dropping the first two sets 19-25 and 19-25, the Alter girls rallied back, taking the next three sets 26-24, 25-18 and 15-7 to pave their way to the regional finals.
Kenton Ridge 3, Logan Elm 1: Kenton Ridge took a hard fought series after dropping the first set 19-25. The girls rebounded and took the last three 25-19-, 25-16 and 26-24 to advance to the regional finals.
Miami East 3, Anna 0: Miami East swept the series 25-14, 25-15 and 26-19.
Versailles 3, Johnston-Monroe 1: Though the match started off strong, Johnston-Monroe fell short in the fourth set, dropping it 6-25 to let Versailles take the series.
New Bremen 3, Jackson Center 0: The Cardinals swept Jackson Center 25-17, 25-14 and 25-19 to move onto the regional finals.
