HS Roundup 2/29: Anderson scores 1,000th career point in Trotwood win

Trotwood steadily pulled away from Dunbar, advancing to the District Tournament with an 86-33 sectional final victory in boys basketball on Friday night at Trent Arena.

Sammy Anderson, a Cincinnati Bearcats signee, tallied his 1,000th career point in the win.

Trotwood moves on to face Saturday’s McNicholas/Purcell Marian winner on Friday, March 6, at the University of Cincinnati.

Boys Basketball

SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT

Alter 59, Kenton Ridge 28: Brady Uhl posted 21 points, Jack Smith added 16 and Conor Stolly 12 to lead Alter, which opened the game on a 13-2 run and never looked back.

Coldwater 61, Liberty-Benton 55: Myles Blansingame tallied 17 points, including going 10-of-11 from the foul line, to lead Coldwater. Noah Miller tacked on 14 points with 10 rebounds and Ethan Post 12 points.

Fort Loramie 49, Botkins 35: Nolan Berning and Caeleb Meyer each chipped in 13 points to pace Fort Loramie. Jayden Priddy-Powell had 16 points for Botkins.

Lakota West 81, Princeton 71, OT: Carter Combs poured in 27 points to lead four players in double-digit scoring for Lakota West. Julian Mackey added 16, Nathan Dudukovich 15 and Alex Afari hauled in 10 rebounds.

Minster 49, Lima Perry 42: Justin Nixon recorded 18 points with 11 rebounds for Minster, which pulled ahead with a 23-14 run in the third quarter.

New Bremen 54, St. Henry 45, OT: Nolan Bornhorst scored eight of his 19 points in overtime to pace New Bremen. Dave Homan added 13 points. Ben Evers led St. Henry with 17 points.

Valley View 51, Indian Hill 49, OT: Valley View rallied from a six-point deficit in the final quarter to send the game into overtime and take home a district title.
