HS Roundup 10/25: Jefferson snaps 38 game losing streak

Colbert Bosen caught two long touchdown passes and LeMichael Phipps scampered for a 29-yard TD run to help secure Jefferson football’s first victory since Halloween of 2013.

Jefferson knocked off Hillcrest Academy 20-16 on Thursday, snapping a losing skid of 38 games.

Quarterback William Pinkston hooked up with Bosen on scoring strikes of 81 and 88 yards and Jabar Coleman picked off three passes for Jefferson. Phipps ran in the deciding TD late in the third quarter.

Belmont 50, Meadowdale 12: Jayzon Wagner racked up 243 yards with three touchdowns on 24 carries to spur a Belmont rushing attack that tallied over 500 yards on the night. Brian McKenzie added four carries for 128 yards with a TD and Rian Reaves had four carries for 128 yards.

Lehman Catholic 21, Riverside 7: Logan Bunker ran in the first two Lehman Catholic touchdowns and Elliott Gilardi capped the scoring with a 51-yard TD scamper in the fourth quarter. Lehman Catholic secured the outright Northwest Central Conference title with the victory.

Xenia 50, Fairborn 8: Sincere Wells scored three rushing scores, setting a school record for rushing touchdowns in a season, and Xenia wrapped up the Greater Western Ohio Conference South title in the blowout win.

Anderson 2, Beavercreek 1: Tanner Eberle scored off a Vaughn Ernst corner kick in a losing effort for ‘Creek.

Dayton Christian 4, Miami East 2: Colin Klein, Jacob Mohn, Sam Reed and Josh Erlandson each scored a goal to help Dayton Christian wrap up a second straight district title.

McNicholas 1, Alter 0: Alter came up short, falling 6-5 in a shootout loss to McNicholas.

St. Xavier 2, Carroll 1, SO: Carroll’s unbeaten run came to an end after St. Xavier edged the Patriots in a shootout.

Summit Country Day 4, Bellefontaine 1: Isaiah Henry scored the lone goal for Bellefontaine off a Nate Hecker assist.

Tippecanoe 1, Monroe 0: Michael Pfister had a corner kick that Jake Rowland headed in for the lone goal to help Tippecanoe win a third-consecutive district title.

Troy Christian 2, Cin. Country Day 1, SO: Troy Christian edged CCD 5-4 in a shootout to win a third district title in a row.
