HS Roundup 1/4: CJ rallies to beat Fenwick in double-OT

Chaminade Julienne rallied from a ten-point deficit to come away with a gritty 68-63 double-overtime win versus Fenwick in boys basketball on Friday.

Jack Nauseef led the way with 23 points and six steals, including a layup to send the game into overtime. Milton Gage tacked on 17 points and Larry Turner added a clutch seven points in overtime play for CJ.

C.J. Napier poured in 27 points for Fenwick.

The win brought kept CJ unbeaten in conference play at 4-0 and 8-1 overall. Fenwick moved to 6-3 and 2-2.

Boys Basketball

Bellbrook 52, Eaton 48: Hayden Greene had 17 points and T.J. Nagy tacked on 11 to lead Bellbrook.

Cedarville 65, Mechanicsburg 51: Colby Cross poured in 18 of his 28 points in the second half to lead Cedarville. Chris Taylor tallied 18 points for ‘Burg.

Coldwater 65, Parkway 48: Cole Frilling finished with 26 points and Noah Miller chipped in 13 for Coldwater. Jack Wehe paced Parkway with 10 points.

Dayton Christian 63, Middletown Christian 48: Jon Welker put up 14 points, Devin Dreier added 12 and Sam DiMario 11 for Dayton Christian.

Dunbar 78, Thurgood Marshall 74: Eric Smyth scored 18 points and Brice Smith tacked on 17 points with 12 rebounds to help Dunbar earn the slim victory.

Greenon 53, Triad 46: Luke Downing led the way with 19 points and Greenon rallied with a 17-5 run in the final quarter to earn the win. Drew Campbell chipped in 15 points for Triad.

Jefferson 53, Miami Valley 44: Colbert Bosen recorded 21 points with eight rebounds to spur Jefferson.

Miami East 65, Tri-County North 43: Brendon Bertsch led Miami East with 14 points and Will Hudson had 10 points with 10 assists. Brian Stinson scored 17 points for TCN.

Minster 78, Fort Recovery 47: Jarod Schulze scored 18 points with ten rebounds for Minster.

Mississinawa Valley 58, Newton 43: Ryan Mollette recorded 18 points and Kleyson Wehrley 11 for Newton.

Monroe 63, Brookville 56: Monroe held off a rally effort to hand Brookville its first loss of the season.

National Trail 46, Seton Catholic (IN) 44: Zach Woodall poured in 14 points with 20 rebounds to help Trail hold off a Seton Catholic rally effort.

Northridge 77, Carlisle 40: Twon Hines had 22 points, Darryl Story Jr. 18 and Northridge closed out the game on an 18-3 run.

Sidney 72, West Carrollton 55: Andre Gordon scored 22 points and Ratez Roberts added 16 as Sidney put the game out of reach in the final quarter. Ryan Brown recorded 13 points for West Carrollton.

Springboro 64, Miamisburg 51: Willieon Yates scored 15 points, leading five players in double-digit scoring for ‘Boro. Noah Moser and Landon Palmer each pitched in 11 points apiece. Brett Hensley had 11 points for ‘Burg.

Trotwood 109, Piqua 41: Amari Davis totaled 26 points and Malachi Mathews 19 to lead Trotwood. Zach Tillman put up 12 points for Piqua.

Twin Valley South 65, Covington 41: Willie Bowman tallied 16 points, Cade Cottingim added 15 and Jayden Bassler 13 to lead TVS.

Versailles 49, New Bremen 34: Michael Stammen scored 13 points and Ryan Martin 13 to lead the way for Versailles. Nolan Bornhorst netted 13 points for New Bremen.

Waynesville 86, Dixie 38: Alex Hurley had 16 points to lead five players in double-digit scoring for Waynesville. John Cole and Anthony Carmichael added 12 apiece.

West Liberty-Salem 62, Madison-Plains 44: Holden Nease had 17 points and Nick Burden and Jack Eggleston added 13 apiece for WLS.

Xenia 80, Tippecanoe 58: Samari Curtis scored 23 points, Noah Crawford 15 and Xenia rode a hot start to victory. Nolan Mader tallied 24 points for Tippecanoe.
