HS Roundup 8/27: Tippecanoe tennis wins against Eaton in tough match

Mira Patel of Tippecanoe defeated her opponet Tess Murphy 6-4, 6-3 on Monday’s singles tennis match against Eaton.

In a two and a half hour match, Dakota Schroeder lost to Grace Murphy 5-7, 5-7, but that didn’t stop Tippecanoe from bringing home a 3-2 win.

In doubles Camillah Jones and Rainey Messinger beat Addie Bell and Brianna Ward of Eaton 6-2, 7-5.

Bellbrook 163, Monroe 203: Ryan Wehner of Bellbrook earned medalist honors with a 38 followed by Alex Gomia scoring a 39.

Carroll 160, Alter 165: Tyler Goecke of Carroll shot a 35 and Shane Oaks recorded a 39.

Cedarville 178, West Liberty-Salem 196: Adam Wood from Cedarville tallied a 35, a career low and earned first overall. Kenny Harr came in second from WLS with a 42.

Coldwater 188, Ft. Recovery 197: Carson Muhlenkamp of Coldwater placed first with a shot of 41 followed by Ft. Recovery’s Grant Knapke with a 46. A tie for third by Coldwater teammates Collin Muhlenkamp and Alex Wourms tallied a 48.

Fairfield 156, Cin. Country Day 214: Medalist Mason Hamilton of Fairfield scored a 36 and Adam Leugers tallied a 38.

Franklin Monroe 228, National Trail 239: Austin Knapp of National Trail was co-medalist with a shot of 54 and teammate Tyler Porter came in second with a 60.

St. Henry 167, New Knoxville 208: Jack Romer of St. Henry recorded a 38 and earned medalist honors. Leading New Knoxville shooting a 47 was Ray Newton followed by teammate Brandon Smith with a 48.

Tippecanoe 171, Milton-Union 185: Matt Salmon of Tippecanoe earned medalist honors with a score of 40. A tie for second with a 41 by teammate Nathan Gagnon and Justin Brown of Milton-Union.

Troy 179, Northmont 180: Leading Troy and earning medalist honors Holden Scribner shot a 39. A tie for second with a 43, Northmont teammates David Richards and Brady Hobert.

Twin Valley South 179, Bethel 238: Willie Bowman of Twin Valley South earned medalist honors followed by Chance Parks with a 43. Alec Donahue led for Bethel with a 52.

West Jefferson 174, Triad 191: West Jefferson’s Joe Thompson recorded a 43. Cole Pond of Triad earned medalist honors with a 40.

Girls Golf

Ben Logan 185, Urbana 231: Sydney Wesson earned medalist honors with a 37 followed by teammate Mailiis Simovart with a 40. Leading for Urbana was Sam Zaborowski with a 52.

Coldwater 206, Ft. Recovery 232: Coldwater had three ladies come in first overall with a 51, Grace Buschur, Emma Eckstein and Lexi Wright and Jalyn Bruns of Ft. Recovery scored a 51.

Eaton 218, Franklin 250: Ainesleigh Elstro tallied a 44 coming in first for Eaton followed by Carly Bricker with a 55 and Kyla Mize recording a 57.

Greenon 205, Traid 212: Co-medalists Ali Rairden of Greenon and Kayleigh Boldman of Triad tallied a 44. Greenon’s Autumn Ferguson came in second with a 48.

Greenville 191, Fairmont 204: Jessica Mortensen of Greenville earned first with a shot of 46 followed by teammates Jada Garland and Madelyn Breig with a 48. Leading for Fairmont was Maddie Stitt with a 48.

Lebanon 179, Beavercreek 195: Maddie Owens of Lebanon and Sarah O’Connor of Beavercreek were co-medalists shooting a 41 followed by Kaylyn Brown of Lebanon with a 44.

Madison Plains 211, Southeastern 217: Rylee Harrington of Southeastern earned medalist honors with a 44.

Mechanicsburg 207, Greeneview 213: Mazie Reece came in first overall shooting a 48 for Miamisburg followed by teammate Dodie Howells with a 50. Leading for Greeneview was Reagan McIntire with a 52 followed by Rachel Stickle with a 53.

Fort Loramie 203, Miami East 211: Leading for Miami East Paige Lawson and Kearsten Kirby tallied a 48.

Girls Tennis

Northridge 3, Stivers 2: Northridge ladies Michelle Clark, Marie Smith and Fifine Marshall all won their singles match.

Sidney 3, Lehman Catholic 2: Kaia Mays of Sidney defeated Sarah Gibson 6-2, 7-6. In doubles Ireland Ike and Alyssa Chavez of Sidney beat Shannon Staley and Brieanna Werling of Lehman Catholic 6-4, 7-6.

Girls Volleyball

Cedarville 3, Bradford 2: Luisa Christian led Cedarville with 5 solo blocks, 1 assist and 16 kills. Abigail Sheridan recorded 12 kills, 2 aces and 22 defensive digs.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 9, Carlisle 2: Nick Schmidt scored 3 goals and assisted 2 for Bethel and teammate Evan Hart scored 2 and assisted one. The goals for Carlisle were made by Dale Moore and Hunter Steward.

Kenton Ridge 9, Indian Lake 2: Baker scored 3 goals and assisted two for Kenton Ridge and teammate Slagle made 2 goals and assisted 3.

Northwestern 1, Bellefontiane 1: Jeremy Howard scored for Northwestern assisted by Reilly Smith.
