HS Roundup 5/2: Wagner sets school record in Monroe win

Alyssa Wagner posted a school record 18 strikeouts in helping Monroe edge Eaton 4-2 in softball on Wednesday.

Sam Schwab blasted two home runs to lead the way at the plate, bringing her total to 10 for the season.

Becca Worley hit a homer and drove in both of Eaton’s runs.

Baseball

Springboro 8, Northmont 4: Calvin Walters and Logan Zier each tallied three RBI, with Walters blasting a three-run shot to lead Springboro. Adam Bendinalli was 2-for-3 with one RBI for Northmont.

Hamilton 11, Fairfield 5: Zach Bell and Alex Mills plated four runs apiece to lead Hamilton, with Bell tallying three hits and Mills two with a double. Eric Roberts recorded the win on the mound.

Tecumseh 9, Bellefontaine 6: Blais Hale tripled and drove in four and Davey Berner doubled and brought in three runs to lead Tecumseh. Calin Jarrell was 2-for-2 with a double for Bellefontaine.

Ben Logan 10, Kenton 5: Jacob Powell, Curtis Gadson and Cole Waugh each had home runs while Sam Knight earned the victory on the mound for Ben Logan.

Urbana 9, West Liberty-Salem 8: Urbana scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to earn a rally victory. Thomas Allen had two triples with one RBI for WLS.

Greeneview 4, Greenon 0: Ian Tamplin and Taylor Stinson each had two hits and Mitchell Hines struck out five in a complete game shutout for Greeneview.

Ross 10, Talawanda 5: Montana Allgaier improved to 5-0 with the complete game victory, helping Ross clinch the SWOC title outright for the second straight season.

Tri-County North 11, Franklin Monroe 1: Collin Whipp tallied three hits and four RBI out of the leadoff spot and Chandley Sproles added three RBI to lead TCN. Noah Koffer brought in the lone run for FM.

Anna 6, Houston 2: Aidan Endsley struck out seven in a complete game and Derek Coverstone doubled and drove in two for Anna.

Softball

Northmont 9, Springboro 5: Sydney McGilton tallied three hits with four RBI, Marissa Bardonaro doubled twice and Cassy Lewis earned the win on the mound for Northmont. Rachel Oxley doubled and Sophie Weber drove in two for ‘Boro.

Lebanon 4, Miamisburg 2: Emily Kepple had two hits and Mackenzie Frantz, Akshatha Bharadwaj, Abbey Haas and Tori Faulkner each added a hit in a losing effort for ‘Burg.

Badin 10, Fenwick 2: Maddie Curtner doubled, tripled and plated four runs to pace Badin. Gracie McHugh added four hits with one RBI and Nicole Rawlings drove in a pair of runs and notched the win on the mound.

Indian Lake 3, Ben Logan 2: Olivia Roose and Kayla Martin both pushed across a run in a losing effort for Ben Logan.

Mechanicsburg 11, Triad 1: Megan Alspaugh had three hits with three RBI and Jessica Maddux and Audrey Ayars added two hits with two RBI to pace ‘Burg.

Greeneview 14, Greenon 11: Baylee Anderson was a triple shy of the cycle, driving in four runs to help her cause on the mound. Cheyanne Montgomery added four RBI and Alexa Simpson scored three times.

Ross 14, Talawanda 0: Kenzie Meyer tossed a four-hit shutout and Maddy Foster knocked an in-the-park home run to lead Ross.

Boys Tennis

Fenwick 4, Madeira 1: Keegan Sagan and Tim Erhart each won in straight sets for Fenwick.

Tecumseh 4, Urbana 1: Mitchell Foland didn’t allow a point in first singles to lead Tecumseh, which improved to 17-0.

Northeastern 3, Catholic Central 2: Northeastern clinched the Ohio Heritage Conference title for an 11th consecutive season.

Boys Volleyball

Fairmont 3, Northmont 2: Fairmont took the final three sets to complete the rally victory. Jacob Hosford led the way with 13 kills and 17 digs, Nash Infanto added 12 kills with 15 assists and Nick Spangler had 15 digs.

Beavercreek 3, Lakota West 0: Grant Fullenkamp finished with nine digs, Jarrod Brown had seven kills with 15 assists and Riley Bell added four blocks for ‘Creek.

Elder 3, Alter 1: Josh Kabel recorded 31 assists and five digs, Dan Nye had 13 kills with six digs and Andrew Rose added nine kills and two blocks in a losing effort for Alter.

Girls Lacrosse

Lakota West 15, Miamisburg 7: Molly Brown and Sydney Callaway each scored two goals in a losing effort for Miamisburg.
