DeWine on effect of Big Ten's decision on HS sports in Ohio: "Well no decision is ever made in a vacuum. All information is important. It's not a question of 'Are they going to play football or not play football?' The basic facts don't change because of what the B10 has decided."

I don't believe any Big Ten team will play this fall, but Nebraska doesn't seem to rule it out here https://t.co/AoZVg58qaX

At least we can take solace in knowing the Big Ten did all it could over the last 5 months to salvage a football season. As every other conference just hoped the problem would magically go away, the Big Ten hoped AND crossed their fingers really really hard. Proud of the effort.

If there’s anything certain about this time it’s that I know I chose the right school. Through everything @OSU_AD @ryandaytime and everyone else on staff had our back and fought for our best interest. Can’t say the same for others on the outside and that’s the sad truth #GoBucks

I’m all for player safety, I just don’t really believe canceling the season makes them any more safe from Covid. At least try to play. If things become dicey then we can re-evaluate, but to just shut it down seems like a panic move for people who thought this would blow over

Feel awful for all of our @OhioStAthletics Fall Sports athletes, coaches and staff.

So many talented and committed athletes that represent Ohio State in an exceptional way.
As a program we hope to be able to see and support them again very soon.
From Ohio St CFB statement: all athletes remain on scholarship, COVID testing & protocols continue, access to team facilities, medical/training, nutrition, tutoring and perhaps most importantly, comprehensive mental health services. Let's hope others do same (I think they will).

Situation to make everyone happy. OSU moves permanently to SEC to win the conference every year and shut people up. Michigan stays in the B1G, finally don’t lose to Ohio State or ever have to schedule them again. Win win. Let’s get this going.

Gene Smith: "We would have ultimately preferred to move to Sept. 26 (opening date) but the science came to us so fast so we just had to move."
— Marcus Hartman (@marcushartman) August 11, 2020
Big Ten’s Kevin Warren on what changed in the past 6 days for them: “There is too much uncertainty now for us to go forward. This is a novel virus. It is spreading at an alarming rate… There are just too many uncertainties from a medical standpoint for us to go forward."
