OXFORD — Miami University men’s golf head coach Casey Lubahn has accepted a similar position at Michigan State, athletic director Brad Bates announced Thursday.
In three seasons Lubahn led the RedHawks to three tournament victories and 15 top-five finishes.
A national search will begin immediately for Lubahn’s replacement.

Speedway sells out grandstand
SPARTA, Ky. — Kentucky Speedway officials announced in a news release Thursday they have sold out the 107,000 grandstand tickets available for the track’s inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the Quaker State 400.
Fans still can purchase $60 standing-room only tickets.

Baker records first hole-in-one
MIDDLETOWN — Holly Baker, of Middletown, made her first career hole-in-one June 27 on the No. 5 hole on the Meadows Course at Weatherwax Golf Course.
The shot was witnessed by Peggy Kelley, Betty Roberts and Donna Idle. Baker shot a 92.
It was the third hole-in-one this year at Weatherwax.

Middies’ Fultz to play at Denison
Middletown High School graduate Alec Fultz has committed to play football this season at Denison University.
Fultz, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back, was an All-Greater Miami Conference first-team selection as a senior.
Denison opens its season Sept. 3 at Ohio Wesleyan.
Engleka named by Twin Valley South
WEST ALEXANDRIA — Former Middletown offensive coordinator Lance Engleka has landed the head coach job at Twin Valley South.
TV South was 2-8 last season under former coach Jason Schondelmyer, who has rejoined Alter’s staff as an assistant.
Among Engleka’s assistants is former Middletown defensive coordinator Joel Householder.

Former RedHawk joins Gems
DAYTON — The Dayton Gems added a big offensive threat, former Miami University player Nino Musitelli, to their lineup for the 2011-2012 season.
The Gems acquired him from the Allen Americans, where Musitelli was one of the top performers in the CHL last season. During the 2010-2011 season he recorded 70 points and was tied for first on the Americans in goals scored (34).
Musitelli played at Miami for four years, appearing in 133 games and recording 58 points.
During his three years as a professional, Musitelli has played in 193 games and has averaged nearly a point a game.
