Springfield’s Leonard Taylor adds another Power 5 scholarship offer

Springfield standout Leonard Taylor’s offer list grew this week to include Pittsburgh.

The four-star prospect tweeted that the Panthers have joined more than a dozen other schools in offering him a scholarship so far.

That list includes Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Nebraska, Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati according to 247Sports. Taylor also still has an offer from Michigan, the school he was committed to until last month.

A prospect at tight end and on the defensive line, Taylor threw the game-winning Hail Mary touchdown pass for the Wildcats last weekend as they beat Centerville.

The next day, he and teammates Isaiah Gibson and Cameron Hoelscher reportedly visited Notre Dame.

Taylor is one of 10 area players in 247Sports’ early rankings of top prospects in Ohio for 2018, joining Hoelscher, Fairfield offensive lineman Jackson Carman and defensive lineman Malik Vann, Wayne athletes L’Christian “Blue” Smith and Alex Reigelsperger, Dunbar linebacker Antwuan Johson and receiver Joseph Scates, Marion Local offensive lineman John Kirksen and Trotwood-Madison running back Raveion Hargrove.

Johnson is also a former Michigan commit.
