Former Wright State standout Thomasson signs NBA D-League contract

Former Wright State basketball standout Joe Thomasson has signed a contract with the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA D-League.

The 6-foot-4, 165-pound Thomasson most recently played for CS Dinamo Bucuresti of the Liga Nationala in Romania, averaging 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 33.2 minutes per game.

In Thomasson’s two years at WSU, the Thurgood Marshall High School graduate averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals.

Thomasson replaces Robert Vaden, who suffered a season-ending concussion.

The Erie Bayhawks are an affiliate off the Orlando Magic and play their home games at POV Arena in Erie, Pa. They play host to the Windy City Bulls at 8 p.m. Thursday.
