Ohio State football was off last week, but that did not stop talk about the Buckeyes.
With ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback who starred at Centerville High School, among those to publicly express concern about Urban Meyer’s state of mind this season, the coach was asked again about his health Monday.
“I appreciate it and I’m fine,” Meyer said during his first press conference since the Buckeyes lost at Purdue on Oct. 20. “I want Ohio State to be successful in the worst way. Working extremely hard to make sure that’s happening. I love Ohio State. I love the players.”
Meyer preferred to keep the focus on the Buckeyes’ next game — a visit from Nebraska at noon Saturday at Ohio Stadium.
“I don’t want people to worry about me. The issue is making sure we get things right around here, and that’s 100 percent of our focus.”
