Urbana girls basketball coach Bill Moss dies

Urbana High School girls basketball coach Bill “Skeeter” Moss died Wednesday, according to a post on the football team’s Facebook page.

“We are saddened to hear the passing of longtime girls basketball Coach Bill “Skeeter” Moss. Urbana mourns as a team, school, and community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Moss was seven games into his 31st season as head coach. The Hillclimbers were off of to a 1-6 start. 

Moss was a two-time state champion, winning the Division II title in 1992 and 1993. His record of 407-257 ranks among the top in state history.
