Castillo’s thrown 66 1/3 innings across 11 starts this season, averaging 97 mph on his fastball. He hasn’t given up more than four runs in any start, and hasn’t allowed that many since July 20.
For a team stocked on bats and searching for pitching aid, both today and in the future, Castillo is already appearing a valuable asset.
